Restoring files to a desktop folder

You can restore your files to a desktop folder on any of the computers on which you installed Norton Online Backup. For example, assume that you have an office computer and a home computer, and you backed up the data of your home computer. By using Norton Online Backup, you can restore the home computer data to your office computer. You can also choose a specific file that you want to restore.

When you restore files to the desktop, Norton Online Backup creates a Restored Files folder on your desktop and restores the files to this folder. During the restore process, you can see a restore progress indicator. Norton Online Backup restores files as an encrypted package to provide data security.

Note:

Norton Online Backup creates the Restored Files folder on the shared desktop of your computer. If your computer has multiple user accounts, the restored files are accessible to all users.

Note:

If you use a Mac computer, Norton Online Backup creates a Restored Files folder on the desktop of your computer.
